Keep Coming Back est une pièce basée sur des témoignages. Elle célèbre la guérison par des histoires à vous couper le souffle, par des récits de survivants, de gens qui ont changé de vie et sont d'authentiques héros.

Le le dublinois nous raconte comment il aurait pu vivre une existence toute autre que celle de la violence, de l'héroïne et de la prison. Colm a quitté sa vie de petit bourgeois et a vécu les 20 dernières années à cultiver sa dépendance à l'alcool et à la drogue.
Nora, mère célibataire, accro aux médicaments depuis l'âge de 15 ans, vit dans la campagne irlandaise avec sa mère.
Ils essaient de comprendre ce qu'ils sont, et quelles sont leurs aspirations.

Keep Coming Back is theatre of testimony, based on true testimonies that were shared with us. It is a celebration of recovery, the stories of survivors that take your breath away, people who have turned their lives around, and are genuine heroes.

Les is a young and volatile inner-city Dubliner, who tells of how he could have ended up with a very different life than his existence of violent crime, prison and heroin. Colm, a middle-class, educated man, walked away from the best life has to offer and has spent the last twenty years of his life creating and nurturing his dependency on drugs and alcohol. Nora’s story is that of a single mother, addicted to prescription medication since the age of fifteen, living with her mother in rural Ireland as she approaches middle age.

In these painful testimonials the audience is permitted into their world as witness to these individuals’ survival, to see their compassion, humour and love as well as their anger, hate and denial.

Keep Coming Back is a story of contemporary Ireland, our history, our culture and a record of our own legacy. The production depicts the lives of three characters striving to come to terms with the addictions that have plagued their lives, leading to the emergence of stories that are both candid and raw, humorous and enlightening, as the trio attempt to understand what they are and what they aspire to be.

The production is a candid portrayal of aspects of life in Ireland today, which are relevant on all levels of family and community life as well as posing serious questions for the State. The piece has been written using first-hand experience of people just like Les, Nora and Colm, people who live beside us, whose lives and experiences most of us will never know.
